US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti and British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron on Friday arrived in Mumbai to attend the grand wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant later in the evening.
Earlier today, former UK prime minister Tony Blair, who is among the other international guests invited for the celebration, arrived in the financial capital of India.
Meanwhile, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also landed in Mumbai ahead of the ceremony.
The upcoming Anant-Radhika wedding promises to be a grand celebration of Indian heritage encompassing culture, spirituality, folk art, craftsmanship, music, and cuisine.
The wedding décor theme, titled “An Ode to Varanasi,” pays homage to this ancient city renowned for its traditions, spirituality, arts, and crafts, and exquisite Banarasi cuisine. The wedding venue at Jio World Centre will be transformed into a vibrant rendition of Varanasi’s streets, offering guests an immersive experience to engage with the city’s rich traditions, flavors, and spiritual essence.
Carefully curated stalls and specialized guest services will ensure attendees not only enjoy the event but also depart with enduring memories of their journey through Varanasi’s ghats. Guests can indulge in Banarasi delicacies such as chaat, mithai, lassi, chai, khari, paan, and mukhwas.
Traditional arts like brasswork, pottery, Banarasi & Kanjeevaram sarees, Polki jewelry, and rosewood furniture will also be on display.
