In an effort to disperse BJP supporters protesting the AAP government about water shortages in the nation’s capital on Saturday, the Delhi Police utilized a water cannon.

The demonstrators, led by former South Delhi MP for the BJP Ramesh Bidhuri, assembled in front of an Okhla Delhi Jal Board (DJB) office and chanted anti-AAP chants. When they would not move, the cops deployed a water cannon to scatter them.

Delhi is experiencing a serious water deficit as a blistering heat wave lashes the city, and the BJP and AAP are still blaming one other for the situation.

Speaking to the demonstrators, Bidhuri claimed that corruption had caused the DJB, which had previously made profits of Rs 600 crore, to now be losing Rs 60,000 crore.

Later, he gave a DJB engineer a note addressing the severe water deficit in the Tughlaqabad assembly constituency.

On Saturday, Delhi Water Minister Atishi began his indefinite hunger strike in protest at Haryana’s withholding of the city’s “rightful share” of Yamuna water.

When Atishi began her hunger strike, she blamed the BJP administration in Haryana for halting the supply of 100 million gallons of water per day (MGD) to Delhi, claiming this had an impact on 28 lakh residents of the city.
