Navratri, the nine-day long autumnal festival, is being celebrated with great fevrour across the country. Amid this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi penned a ‘garba’ song as a tribute to Goddess Durga and shared it on X on Monday.
Sharing the video of the song, ‘Aavati Kalay’, PM Modi wished for the goddess’ blessings to always remain upon everyone.
“It is the auspicious time of Navratri and people are celebrating in different ways, united by their devotion to Maa Durga. In this spirit of reverence and joy, here is Aavati Kalay, a Garba I wrote as a tribute to Her power and grace. May Her blessings always remain upon us,” PM Modi wrote on X.
In a separate post, PM Modi thanked Purva Mantri, “a talented upcoming singer”, for singing the ‘garba’ penned by him and presenting a melodious rendition of it.
Garba is a traditional Gujarati dance form which is especially performed during the festival of Navaratri.
Each day of Navratri is dedicated to a different form of goddess Durga, representing various qualities including strength, compassion, wisdom.
Shardiya Navratri, a vibrant Hindu festival, takes place in the lunar month of Ashwin.
