Retired IPS officer and founder of the Mahavir Mandir Trust, Acharya Kishore Kunal, passed away on Sunday following a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a hospital after suffering the attack in the morning but could not be saved, according to his family members.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed his condolences, calling Kunal’s death “an irreparable loss to society.” “He gave Mahavir Mandir a national identity and did unprecedented work for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society. His contribution is difficult to express in words,” Choudhary said.
Kishore Kunal, an IPS officer from the 1972 batch, was known for his exemplary service. He served as the chief of the Bihar State Board of Religious Trust (BSBRT) and was one of the founding members of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust.
As the secretary of the Mahavir Mandir Trust, Kunal played a key role in establishing hospitals and other welfare initiatives in Bihar. His work for the underprivileged earned him widespread respect and recognition.
Kunal’s passing marks the end of an era of dedicated public service. His efforts in expanding the reach of the Mahavir Mandir Trust and his commitment to society’s weaker sections remain a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
Deputy CM Choudhary added, “I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and strength to his family to bear this grief.”
