The bail of the 17-year-old boy, accused in Pune Porsche accident case, has been cancelled by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Wednesday. He has now been remanded to a Rehabilitation/Observation home for 14 days till June 5.
The order was giving by three member JJB.
Three days back, on Sunday (May 19) evening, the teenaged boy, son of renowned real estate developer

was released on bail by the JJB despite mowing down two young techies with his Porsche Taycan in Kalyani Nagar area of Pune. He was driving the electric luxury sports sedan under the influence of alcohol.
What has happened in JJB today?
The Pune Police on Wednesday argued in favour of the remand of the juvenile on the grounds that it is unsafe for him outside as people might attack him. It was also mentioned that the investigating into the case was still on.
The defence counsel on their part claimed that the minor accused took to alcohol as a habit out of depression.
The under-aged boy mentioned to the board that he wants to stay with his mother and would feel safe at home. He added that being kept inside the remand home could further push him deeper into depression.

Earlier on Wednesday, the JJB heard an application submitted by the Pune Police seeking revision of its Sunday’s order, granting bail to 17-year-old accused.
Will he be treated as an adult?
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, “We had filed in a review application before the JJB to allow the minor to be tried as an adult and also to send him in the remand home. The operative order was communicated to us by the Board and the said juvenile accused has been sent to the remand home for 14 days, till June 5. The order of him being tried as an adult is awaited at the moment.”
What did the lawyer of the accused say?
Prashant Patil, lawyer of the accused, said during his detention, the boy will have to avail psychiatric help. “We will speak to the parents of the accused and decide whether we need to appeal or not by tomorrow (Thursday, May 23) evening,” he added.
On the accused being tried as adult, Patil said: “Police have to file chargesheet in 30 days. Within three months, it will be decided if he will be tried as adult. There was no argument that was made on him being tried as adult today (May 22).”
Parents of teen accused can meet him twice a week for an hour at the observation home.

The boy was released on Sunday evening within 15 hours of detention on the conditions seen as “lenient” as the JJB asked the boy to write a
300-word essay
on “effect of road accidents and their solution”, work with Yerawada traffic police for 15 days, studying traffic rules and regulations.

On Tuesday (May 21), the Pune Police moved the Sessions Court, urging the minor accused in the Pune Porsche crash case to be treated as an adult as the crime is heinous.
More charges slapped against Pune Porsche crash accused
After the minor ramped his Porsche Taycan over a motorcycle, killing two people, in the early hours of Sunday, he was detained by the police. The boy was booked for rash and negligent driving, causing harm by endangering safety of lives, death by negligence under Sections 304A, 279, 337 and 338 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as provisions of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Act.

However, ahead of the hearing before the JJB on Wednesday (May 22), the Pune Police added some more stringent sections against the minor accused and added section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act (driving by a drunken person), sections 184 (action against those who violate traffic rules through rash or dangerous driving), 119 (age limit in connection with driving of motor vehicles) and 177 (general provision for punishment of offences).
