Prajwal Revanna, Janata Dal (Secular) MP from Karnataka’s Hassan, accused in sexual harassment and kidnapping cases, has reportedly booked a ticket to Bengaluru from Germany’s Munich for May 30.
A report by PTI quoted sources in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing cases against him as saying that Revanna is expected to land at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda airport in the early hours of May 31.
This comes after Revanna in a video posted on social media said he would appear before the SIT on May 31.
Sources also said that Revanna, the 33-year-old grandson of JDS patriarch and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, had cancelled his flight ticket from Germany twice in the past.
Revanna is seeking re-election from the Hassan Lok Sabha seat as an NDA candidate. He left for Germany from India on April 27, after explicit video clips, purportedly showing him with multiple women, started circulating in Karnataka.
Hassan had gone to the polls on April 26 in the first of the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls 2024. Revanna used his diplomatic passport to flee the country the very next day.
Subsequently, the SIT made a request to the Interpol through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a ‘Blue Corner’ notice, which was issued seeking information on Revanna’s whereabouts.

The SIT also conducted searches at Revanna’s residence in Hassan on Tuesday (May 28) which continued till late in the night.
”Some incriminating materials have been seized,” the SIT officials said.
Revanna likely to be arrested when he lands in Bengaluru
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said the state police will arrest Revanna as soon as he lands in Bengaluru.
Parameshwara also said that the vigil at Kempegowda International Airport had been intensified.
Truth will be revealed: BJP
Former Karnataka deputy CM and BJP MLA, Ashwath Narayan welcomed Revanna’s decision to face the law. He said: “Good that he is surrendering and coming back. The first duty of any citizen, particularly of any elected representative is to co-operate with officials during such times. I welcome it.”
“He must co-operate. There’s an investigating agency and court. Truth will be revealed. Let the process of law go on. It has really caused real uneasiness in the entire state. The creator and distributor of the video should be punished. The case must be either handed over to CBI or court monitored SIT,” Narayan said.
Revanna releases video
On Monday (May 27), Revanna released a video message, assuring that he will appear before the SIT on May 31.
“Don’t mistake me, on the 31st at 10 am, I will be in front of the SIT and I will cooperate,” he said.
“I trust the judiciary and the cases against me are false and are part of a political conspiracy. I trust the law,” he further said.
Revanna even claimed that he “went into depression and isolation” and that “few forces in Hassan (his constituency from which he was fielded in 2024 Lok Sabha elections) are against me because I am growing publically”.
“On May 26, when the election (in Hassan constituency) got over, there was no case against me. SIT was not formed. Two-three days after I left, I saw on YouTube these allegations against me. I also wrote to SIT asking for seven days’ time,” Revanna claimed.
The JDS leader also said, “After Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, spread rumours about me, I went into depression, and I isolated myself. A political conspiracy is going on to finish my career, and I will face it.”
Revanna also apologised to his party workers and his family members “for not providing proper information about my whereabouts abroad”.
The first FIR (First Information Report) against Revanna was filed on April 28, after a purported victim in the explicit video clips came forward. Later, three more FIRs of rape were filed against him.
