Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, might face an FIR after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed before the Delhi High Court on Wednesday seeking a case against her for posting video clips of the CM’s court proceedings on social media.

The PIL was filed by advocate Vaibhav Singh who alleges that the clip of the court proceedings was also shared by several social media handles where Arvind Kejriwal can be heard addressing the Rouse Avenue Court over the Delhi Excise Policy.

The AAP leader, who is currently out on bail till June 2, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21.

Advocate Singh has sought a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe on the matter. In the plea, he has argued that several social media accounts associated with the Aam Aadmi Party and other opposition parties took audio/video recordings of Kejriwal’s court proceedings on March 28 and posted them.

Sunita Kejriwal allegedly reposted an audio of the proceeding posted by an X account named “Akshay.”

Singh argued that as per “High Court of Delhi Rules for Video Conferencing for Courts 2021” recording of court proceedings and publishing them online is prohibited.

“The post in regard to this audio/video recording was circulated on X erstwhile Twitter with the #MoneyTrailExposedByKejriwal. The circumstances in which the audio/video recording went viral smell deep conspiracy by the political parties to malign the image of the judiciary and mislead the common people of this nation and to show the general public that the judiciary is working on the behest of government and under the pressure of the Central Government,” the PIL read, according to Bar and Bench.
