One labourer was killed and another sustained injuries after Marathi actor Urmila Kothare’s car hit them in Mumbai’s Kandivali area, Hindustan Times reported citing police.
The actress and her driver were also injured in the accident. As per the report, Kothare was returning from work when the accident took place near Poisar Metro station. The dirver reportedly lost control of the high-speeding car, hitting two metro workers. While one worker died on the spot, another sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the actor was saved due to the airbags deployed in her car, ABP Majha reported citing the police.
“Urmila Kothare’s car hit two labourers who were engaged in Metro rail work under the Poisar Metro station in Kandivali east shortly after midnight. While labourer died, another was seriously injured. The actor and her driver were also injured in the accident. But they were saved as the airbags opened at the right time,” a police official stated.
The police have registered a case against the driver at the Samta Nagar Police Station. An investigation is underway into the matter.
