NEET UG 2024 paper stealer arrested

On July 17, the CBI arrested two more people – Pankaj Kumar and Raju Singh – for allegedly stealing the NEET UG 2024 paper from the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) trunk in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh.

Pankaj Kumar, alias Aditya, a 2017-batch civil engineer from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, was arrested from Bihar’s Patna. He is a part of the paper leak mafia, and he allegedly stole the NEET-UG question papers with the help of Raju.

Cops arrested Raju from Hazaribagh.

A special court in Patna has sent Pankaj Kumar to 14-day CBI custody, while Raju was remanded to 10-day custody.

Reports said there were discrepancies in the trunk in which NEET UG 2024 papers had arrived at Hazaribagh’s Oasis School.

The Supreme Court on Thursday is hearing a batch of petitions linked to NEET UG 2024. Some petitions have also sought cancellation of the examination, re-test and probe into alleged malpractices in the conduct of the medical entrance exam.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra would hear over 40 petitions in connection with the NEET-UG row.
