The NEET-UG 2024 counselling schedule has been announced on Monday by the Medical Counselling Committee on its official website: mcc.nic.in.
As per the schedule, the NEET-UG 2024 counselling will start from August 14.
When will NEET-UG 2024 counselling registration begin?
The registration for the process of the NEET-UG 2024 counselling is likely to commence from the first week of August, Dr B Srinivas, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC) said.
”The counselling will take place for the allotment of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats in around 710 medical colleges across the country. Also, the counselling will be held for 21,000 BDS seats besides Ayush and nursing seats,” Srinivas further said.
How to apply for NEET-UG 2024 counselling?
Eligible candidates, as per the final NEET-UG 2024 results and revised merit list, will have to apply for the counselling on the official website – mcc.nic.in.
“The candidates are advised to keep in touch with the MCC website regarding updates on schedule and further process of Counselling,” the MCC said in its official notice.
Eligible candidates will be required to use a valid e-mail address and mobile number in the online application form of NTA for registration on the MCC portal for NEET-UG 2024 counselling.
Before filling the choices, candidates must go through the availability of seats in their desired medical colleges. The counselling registration pricess also includes, uploading of documents, payment of fees, and choice locking.
After the declaration of round 1 seat allotment results, selected candidates will have to confirm the admission offer and make the payment and report to the allotted college.
Three rounds of NEET-UG 2024 counselling
The MCC will manage the NEET-UG 2024 counselling in three rounds which will be followed by a stray vacancy round.
Through the NEET-UG counselling 2024, the MCC will offer admission to 15 per cent AIQ (all India quota) seats to states, 100 per cent MBBS, BDS seats of BHU Open, 100 per cent MBBS seats of AIIMS across India, JIPMER Open (Puducherry/ Karaikal), and participation institutes.
NEET-UG 2024 counselling schedule: Key dates
Verification of Tentative Seat Matrix : August 14 to 16
Registation/ Payment : August 14 to 21, until 12 noon (server time). Payment facility will be available till August 21 until 3:00 pm.
Choice Filling/Locking : August 16 to 20, until 11:55 pm (server time). Choice Locking will be available from August 20, 4:00 pm onwards untill 11:55 pm of the same day.
Processing of Seat Allotment: August 21 to 22
Round 1 Result Announcement: August 23
Reporting/Joining: August 24 to 29
Verification of Joined Candidates Data by Institutes and Sharing of Data by MCC: August 30 to 31.
On Friday (July 26), the National Testing Agency (NTA) had declared the final results of the controversy-ridden medical entrance examination (NEET-UG 2024) after the Supreme Court disposed of a bunch of petitions, including those alleging irregularities in the conduct of the exam.
