National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) 21 leaders, including TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, officially named Narendra Modi as the leader of the alliance in Parliament at a meeting of the bloc on Friday.
The meeting was held at the Parliament’s Samvidhan Sadan where Modi was also elected as the leader of Lok Sabha and leader of the BJP.
Modi along with 15 other NDA leaders will head to Rashtrapati Bhavan where he will stake claim to form the government. He will take oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on Sunday, June 9 at 6 pm.
Before heading to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Modi will meet BJP veteran LK Advani.

Earlier, Modi was welcomed in the Parliament’s old building with chants of ‘Modi Modi’.
After reaching the Parliament, the BJP leader also touched the Constitution of India with his forehead.
As the BJP failed to cross the halfway mark of 272 in 543 seats Lok Sabha alone, it had to depend on allies TDP and JD(U).

Speaking at the meeting in Parliament on Friday, Nitish Kumar reiterated that he will be with Modi and NDA.
“It is a very good thing that all of us have come together and we will all work together with you (PM Modi). You will be taking oath as the Prime Minister on Sunday, but I wanted you to do it today itself. Whenever you take the oath, we will be with you… We will all work together under your leadership,” the JD(U) leader said.
‘Modi never took any rest,’ says Chandrababu Naidu
Naidu in his address, said: “We are congratulating all of us as we have won a wonderful majority. I have seen during the election campaign, for three months PM Modi never took any rest. Day and night he has campaigned. He stated and ended with the same spirit. In Andhra Pradesh, we had three public meetings and one big rally and it has made a huge difference in winning the election in Andhra Pradesh.”
Former chief minister of Karnataka and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy also affirmed his party’s support to Modi and the NDA to form a “stable government”.
