Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha 2024 polls, from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi seat, from where he won the last two general elections with a massive mandate and a huge margin.
In an exclusive interview with Network18 after filing his nomination, PM Modi said his emotional side is his strength, but for opposition parties, it’s a reason to taunt him.
“Being emotional is not an adopted trait but it is inborn. It is my strength, some in the world see it as weakness and for the opposition, it is an opportunity to taunt me,” the Prime Minister said, responding to a question in which he was asked about being full of confidence and showing no signs of nervousness on his face.
‘Word nervousness not in my dictionary’
Prime Minister Modi further said the word nervousness does not exist in his dictionary.
“I have spent each and every moment of my life for the citizens of my country. I have done all this because I know the people of my country are very deserving. They have suffered a grave injustice for 70 years. When someone wipes his tears, someone takes care of his toilet, he cannot forget these things,” PM Modi said.
‘140 crore Indians contesting Lok Sabha polls 2024’
PM Narendra Modi further said he has good experience in gauging the sentiments of the people and that he understood what they have experienced so far of people and that they have connected with him and want to strengthen the association.
“Modi is not contesting this election. 140 crore countrymen are contesting these elections,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister went on to say that the people of India feel that the country has seen models of many governments. “But BJP has given a model, which has both the resolve and dream of a modern India,” he said.
“Today Modi is working to fulfill the dreams of the common man of the country… The change is clearly visible, especially among the youth… The country will become a hub of green hydrogen, Startups are booming. Through this, the youth feel that the doors of India are opening to the world. The youth of the country are weaving their dreams with my successes,” the Prime Minister said.
