Radioactive material was found in the cargo area of Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on Saturday. The area was immediately evacuated and the NDRF was called to the spot.
“The National Disaster Response Force was called in to ascertain the cause of the alarm. There was no threat to life or injury. Airport operations have not been impacted,” the airport said in a statement.
