Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in an exclusive interview with News18 on Monday (September 16), hit back at the allegations that Modi 3.0 is a government that keeps making “U-turns” when it comes to policy decisions.

She pointed out that the government’s sincere efforts to make corrections in policies based on inputs from stakeholders are being portrayed as U-turns. This, she said, was clearly visible in the controversy over indexation benefits that were proposed to be scrapped in her Budget 2024 speech in July.

Hitting out at the opposition without naming them, she said, “Some people are creating narratives against this government’s policies and some sections of the media is also playing a role in it.”
