A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam case till May 31.

The court’s order on Tuesday came in the case of money laundering case against Sisodia under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), according to ANI. The agency further said the next date of hearing in the case is May 31.

Sisodia is facing corruption and money laundering charges in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam case. He held the excise portfolio in Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet at the time the alleged scam took place. While the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the corruption case against him, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating money laundering charges.

Sisodia was arrested in February 2023. He has been in jail since then.

Sisodia was the Deputy CM of Delhi at the time of his arrest. He resigned from the post at the time of his arrest.

Sisodia’s fellow AAP leaders Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh have also been arrested in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy case.
