In the early trends of 2025 Delhi assembly election results, top leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are trailing whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has touched the majority mark of 36 in the 70-member assembly.
Party convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodiya, and sitting CM Atishi are all trailing in their seats of New Delhi, Jangpura, and Kalkaji respectively.
In New Delhi, BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh is ahead of Kejriwal. In Jangpura, BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah is ahead of Sisodiya. In Kalkaji, BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri is ahead of Atishi.
As per the latest early trends at 9:10 am, the BJP was ahead at 37 seats and the AAP on 23.
However, the early trends are not necessarily reflective of the results as postal ballots are counted in the beginning and counting of votes cast on electronic voting machines (EVMs) starts later. The bulk of the votes are cast by EVMs.
In the 2025 Delhi elections, the BJP is looking forward to returning to power after more than two decades while AAP is hoping to secure a fourth straight term. Most exit polls had predicted a clear majority of the BJP.
