Days after three UPSC aspirants drowned in the library in the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar area, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday reached the incident site and started their investigation into the tragic incident.
According to News 18, the CBI team, comprising 10-12 officers, reached the incident site in Old Rajinder Nagar area after registering an FIR in the case.
Earlier in the day, the probe agency took over the case from Delhi Police, ANI news agency quoted a senior CBI official as saying.
“After the initial formalities, the CBI team will soon be visiting the spot where the incident took place for a detailed investigation into the matter,” the official had said.
UPSC aspirants Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nevin Delvin drowned on July 27 after water surged into the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar, following heavy rains.
On August 2, the Delhi High Court transferred the investigation to the CBI as the court was unsatisfied with the investigation done by Delhi Police in the case.
