A non-local man was reportedly killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said on Friday, making it the first time after months that a nonresident came under terror attack in the region.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian said that the man was killed by terrorists on Thursday, a day after National Conference’s Omar Abdullah took oath as J&K’s chief minister.
According to a report by India Today, the man has been identified as a migrant from Bihar. His bullet-riddled body was found by locals in the Waduna area of Zainapora of Shopian.
Police have opened an investigation as the body has been sent to the hospital to carry out medical formalities.
Earlier this year in April, the bodies of two non-local workers were discovered who were also killed by terrorists.
