It’s not trying to create an economic union. The corridor is expected to benefit India, Saudi Arabia, the US, and Europe.IMEC is divided into two sections: the East Corridor, linking India with the Arabian Gulf, and the Northern Corridor, connecting the Gulf to Europe. The project was launched on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, with an agreement signed by India, Saudi Arabia, the European Union, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and other G20 partners.China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a large-scale connectivity project linking China with Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Russia, and Europe.
