Will Rahul Gandhi give up his seat in Rae Bareli or Wayanad? The MP from both constituencies is in a dilemma even almost a week after poll results were announced.
Gandhi made the comments during his first visit to Kerala after winning a landslide victory from Wayanad.
“I have a dilemma before me, whether I should be the MP of Wayanad or of Rae Bareli. What I will commit to you is that both Wayand and Rae Bareli will be happy with my decision,” the leader said as he thanked voters for supporting him during the Lok Sabha elections.
On Tuesday, Gandhi went to Uttar Pradesh with his sister Priyanka Gandhi to meet and greet supporters after poll victory. The grand old party won an unprecedented victory in the state, clinching both Rae Bareli and Amethi from BJP.
Meanwhile, some reports suggest that if Rahul Gandhi chooses to relinquish the Rae Bareli seat, his sister will contest from the constituency, making it her poll debut.
During his speech, he also said that the fight in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls was for protecting the Constitution of India and in that fight, hatred has been defeated by love and affection, arrogance by humility.
