Blinkit is expanding its services to another levels. Blinkit announced that it is launching ambulance services that will arrive at the spot in ten minutes. The quick delivery platform said that the service will be provided in Gurugram in the first phase and has plans to expand the emergency service to all big cities in the next two years.

Blinkit’s CEO Albinder Dhindsa in a post on X, said, “We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities. The first five ambulances will be on the road in Gurugram starting today.” He also said that with the expansion of the service in other areas, consumers will see an option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the Blinkit app.

The online platform detailed what all the users will get with its ambulance service. According to the company, the ambulance is equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), a stretcher, a monitor, a suction machine, and essential emergency medicines and injections. Every ambulance will also have a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver “to make sure we are able to deliver the highest quality of service in time of need,” he added.

Dhindsa stated that their goal is not profit and said, “we will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term. We are carefully scaling this service up, as it is both important and new to us. Our aim is to expand to all major cities over the next two years.”

The platform had recently announced the launch of a large order fleet service in Delhi and Gurugram. These electric vehicles, it said, are made to carry big electronics or party orders.
