Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday alleged that central agencies have been directed to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in an attempt to disrupt Aam Aadmi Party’s Assembly polls preparations. The AAP national convener’s statement came after Delhi departments raised concerns about the Atishi-led government’s Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana.

In a press meet, Kejriwal accused the BJP of conspiring against the Delhi government, alleging that they’ve been trying to inconvenience residents for the past decade. He claimed that the BJP has been using the Lieutenant Governor to hinder the government’s work but to no avail. When these tactics failed, they resorted to jailing top AAP leaders and ministers. “As per sources, recently there was a meeting between CBI, ED, and I-T, and they have been asked to arrest Atishi by fabricating any false case against the chief minister. The probe agencies have also been asked to conduct raids on me, Saurabh Bhardwaj and other AAP leaders to distract us ahead of the assembly election,” Kejriwal alleged.

Kejriwal asserted that despite these obstacles, the Delhi government has continued to function, and the BJP is now facing a historic defeat due to their lack of narrative. He slammed the Modi-led party saying they have a “half-government” in Delhi, yet they’ve failed to deliver on their responsibilities. Despite having seven MPs and the Lieutenant Governor, the BJP hasn’t built a single road, hospital, school, or college in the past 10 years. The people of Delhi entrusted them with maintaining law and order, but they’ve botched that job too, leaving citizens living in fear.

“They can’t say what work they have done and what they will do if you vote for them. They are just abusing Kejriwal and asking for votes. They have no Chief Minister face or agenda,” said Kejriwal adding that he is running a positive campaign. He highlighted his party’s achievements in improving schools and hospitals, providing 24/7 free electricity, ensuring water supply, and introducing free bus rides for women and pilgrimages for the elderly.
