On May 13, votes were cast in all 175 Andhra Pradesh seats as well as the first phase of Odisha (28 constituencies). In the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, there are 29 seats set aside for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and an additional 7 seats for Scheduled Tribes (STs).
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly is currently in session from June 12, 2019, till June 11, 2024.
Odisha voters exercised their right to elect the 147-member state Assembly on May 20 (35 seats), May 25 (42 constituencies), and June 1 (42 constituencies).
The Odisha Assembly has 24 seats designated for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and another 33 for Scheduled Tribes (STs).
The current term of the Odisha Assembly runs from June 25, 2019, until June 24, 2024.

The two main political parties in Andhra Pradesh are Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).
The TDP is allied with the BJP and the Jana Sena Party (JSP), led by Pawan Kalyan. In the struggle against the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) was the Congress, led by YS Sharmila, the sister of chief minister Jagan Reddy.

This time around in Odisha, the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s governing Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is up against a formidable foe in the BJP’s comeback. Since 2000, the BJD has ruled the state. Additionally, the Congress is attempting to gain ground in the state.
