Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday, filed a plea in the trial court (Rouse Avenue Court), seeking bail in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped liquor policy.

The court is expected to hear his plea at 2 pm on Thursday (May 3).

Kejriwal moved to Rouse Avenue Court after facing rejection from the Supreme Court registry.

The apex court had granted interim bail to the Delhi Chief Minister to campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He was directed to surrender on June 2 before Tihar Jail authorities.

On Wednesday (May 29), the Supreme Court’s registry rejected Kejriwal’s plea for a 7-day extension of his interim bail to undergo some medical tests.

Refusing to accept the application, the apex court’s registry said since Kejriwal was given liberty to move the trial court for regular bail, the plea seeking extension is not maintainable.
