Anant Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, spoke about his deep connection to animals and his commitment to fulfilling his father’s vision for the Jamnagar refinery during a celebration marking its 25th anniversary.
While addressing employees of Reliance during a commemorative event at Jamnagar, Anant shared his aspirations for the city, his deep love for animals, and his commitment to fulfilling the dreams of his father, Mukesh Ambani, and grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani.
In his speech, Anant stated, “I am convinced that in 25 years when India commemorates its centenary of independence, we will collectively elevate Jamnagar’s prestige and honour to unprecedented levels.”
“My respected grandfather, Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, had a dream. He wanted to build a refinery which would be the best in the world. 25 years ago, in the lifetime of my grandfather, my father, Shri Mukesh Bhai, fulfilled this dream of Dhirubhai Ambani,” Anant said.
Expressing gratitude for the invaluable heritage passed down by both his grandfather and father, he continued, “Today I am grateful. I am grateful that I have got the invaluable heritage of such two great men.”
Anant made a promise to his father, stating, “On this holy day, I take an oath and promise my father that I will fulfill all the dreams associated with Jamnagar.”
He also shared his passion for animals, inspired by his mother, and highlighted Reliance’s commitment to their welfare through its Vantara initiative. “One more thing, the way my mother taught me to love animals and birds, similarly, by taking inspiration from Vantara, I request you to love all the animals,” he said. “Vantara has proved that Reliance takes care of animals and birds as much as it takes care of humans. Vantara is a living example of Reliance’s We Care philosophy.”
Looking to the future, Anant expressed confidence that the Jamnagar refinery would continue to thrive. “I am sure that 25 years from now, when India’s independence will be celebrated, we will take the pride of Jamnagar to new heights.”
Reliance’s Jamnagar refinery, which was inaugurated on December 28, 1999, marks a major milestone in the company’s history. Over the years, the refinery has evolved into a global leader with some of the world’s largest refining units. The refinery is also committed to sustainability, with ongoing efforts like Vantara focusing on environmental conservation.
