Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani, and their son Akash Ambani cast their votes at a Mumbai polling booth during the fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Voting is currently taking place in 13 Lok Sabha constituencies across Maharashtra, including six in Mumbai, the financial capital.
Mukesh Ambani urged citizens to participate in the general elections, highlighting the importance of voting. Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, echoed this sentiment, stating, “It is important as an Indian citizen to vote. It is our right and responsibility to vote. I urge everyone to go out and exercise their right to vote.”
Earlier today, several notable industrialists were seen at polling booths in Mumbai. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, former Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal, former HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani, and Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das were among those who cast their votes.
Prominent film personalities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Ananya Panday, Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone, also turned out to vote.
Apart from Maharashtra, voting is also taking place in Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
As of 5 PM on Monday, Maharashtra recorded an average voter turnout of 48.66 percent. Whereas Jharkhand recorded 48.66 per cent voter turnout, Odisha recorded 60.55 percent, UP recorded 55.80 percent, Ladakh recorded 67 percent, West Bengal recorded 73 percent and Odisha recorded 60.55 percent.
