The poster, which bears the provocative tagline “Kejriwal’s honesty will outweigh all the dishonest people” also features photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Delhi BJP leaders. However, the inclusion of Rahul Gandhi signalled that the gloves are off for AAP.
Ahead of Delhi assembly polls, rivalries between political parties in the national capital have reached another level. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has gone ruthless on Congress, its ally in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
The AAP featured Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the Arvind Kejriwal-led party’s campaign posters. The poster with the picture of Rahul Gandhi read, “Kejriwal’s honesty will outweigh all the dishonest people.” Though the poster also features Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other Delhi leaders of BJP, the inclusion of Rahul Gandhi suggests that AAP is over with Congress.
The special mention of Rahul Gandhi came after the latter lashed out at AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal over his governance track record, claiming that he cannot match the achievements of former Delhi Chief Minister and Congress leader Sheila Dikshit.
“Delhi now wants the real development model of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit and not the false propaganda and PR model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal,” The Congress MP said at a rally on January 24.
Gandhi had earlier too had accused Arvind Kejriwal of copying PM Modi’s “strategy of propaganda and false promises” and unable to mitigate increasing pollution, corruption, and inflation in the capital. He continued to attack both the PM and the AAP convener and on a different occasion accused both the leaders of snatching away the dues of marginalised groups, such as Dalits and tribals.
The BJP recently launched a scathing attack on the ruling party in Delhi through a social media poster, labeling them a “disaster” and a gang of thugs and criminals. The poster boldly declares that the people of Delhi will deliver a decisive blow to the AAP party on February 5th.
