A day after a freight train derailed in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha, a goods train derailed in Rajasthan’s Alwar on Sunday.

Three coaches of a goods train derailed on the side line in the Alwar Yard around 2:30 am, according to PTI.

It is the latest in the string of railway accidents in recent days. Earlier this week, an accident had killed four and injured more than 30 in UP’s Gonda.

The railways officials further said that no rail movement has been affected from the incident.

The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Western Railways told PTI, “It happened on side line of the yard hence traffic movement on Delhi-Alwar route remained unaffected. The Alwar-Mathura route was affected but since there was no passenger or freight train during that time it didn’t effect train operations.”

The official further said that the track was cleared by 9 am on Sunday.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager Jaipur Manish Goyal told ANI that the train that got derailed was on its way to Rewari in Haryana.

Previously, a freight train had got derailed in UP’s Amroha on Friday.

Around 5 pm, 12 coaches of a Delhi-bound freight train were derailed near the Amroha railway station, according to PTI.

Moradabad Division’s Senior Deputy Commercial Manager (DCM) Aditya Gupta tod the agency that 12 wagons derailed just after crossing the Amroha railway station around 5 pm. He further said that no one was injured in the accident.

The Northern Railway CPRO told the agency that the accident happened at the Amroha Yard on the Ghaziabad-Moradabad section and disrupted train movement on the route.

Previously, Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed in Gonda on Thursday. The preliminary investigation has shown that the accident took place because of negligence on part of officials regarding a faulty track. The IANS has reported that the probe conducted by senior railway officials has revealed that a trackman had alerted the concerned junior engineer (JE) about a defect on the track between Motiganj and Jhilahi around one hour before the incident. The report found that the section officer failed to act on the warning and it is this inaction that led to the accident.
