At least four hospitals in the national capital Delhi received bomb threats via email on Tuesday (May 14). Searches were carried out in these hospitals after the threat led to panic in these healthcare facilities.
Tuesday’s bomb threat at hospitals comes two days after Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and more than half a dozen government hospitals in the city received bomb threats through email.
Delhi bomb threat: Which 4 hospitals received email?
Delhi Fire Service (DFS) chief Atul Garg said the fire department received calls regarding bomb threats from four hospitals:
1 – Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital in Ashok Vihar at 10:45 am2 – Shri Dada Dev Hospital in Dabri at 10:55 am3 – Hedgewar Hospital in Farsh Bazaar at 11:01 am4 – GTB Hospital at 11:12 am
The premises of the hospitals are being searched by bomb and sniffer dogs squad. Fire engines are also sent to these facilities.
The bomb threat to hospitals on Tuesday also comes within days after nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), on May 1, received hoax bomb emails, triggering panic among students, parents and administrations.
The bomb threats to schools were received from a Russia-based mailing service, meanwhile, Sunday’s threats to hospitals and two other installations were received from a Europe-based mailing service company ‘beeble.com’, officials said.
A police officer said the e-mail was sent to one hospital with copies marked to others with the same content, an officer said. The officer said it was generated from sender id ‘‘[email protected]’’, which is being verified and cyber officials are trying to locate the IP address.
The bomb threat emails in schools, hospitals and other facilities in Delhi-NCR are being sent at a time when the national capital is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls 2024 that will be held on May 25.
