Delhi Police on Wednesday made one of its biggest drug busts in the city, seizing 565 kg of cocaine estimated to be worth around Rs 2,000 crore.

A Special Cell team had been tracking the accused for over two months after they received a tip-off and nabbed them right before the festive season kicked in.

Police have arrested four people from South Delhi’s Mehrauli in connection to the case and are currently interrogating them.

Cocaine came from West Asia

Delhi police shared details of the case during a press conference where it said that officials had grabbed hold of cocaine and high-quality marijuana.

One of the accused, Tushar from Vasant Kunj, is the kingpin in the case. The police seized 15 kg of cocaine from his possession.

The rate of the drug is estimated to be Rs 10,000 per kg. While the cocaine came from a country in West Asia, the marijuana came to India from Thailand.

Police said that the cocaine entered Delhi via roads while Marijuana came from the airport. They were seized by the police as soon as they entered the national capital.
