Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that there are efforts being made to revive terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir but assured the people that as long as Modi government is in power, no one will dare to spread terrorism on Indian soil.
Addressing an election rally in J&K’s Kishtwar, Shah said, “Today, I remember all the martyrs from this region and make a promise before you, that we will end terrorism in such a way that it will never rise again. There are efforts being made to support terrorism here again.”
He said the National Conference (NC) and the Congress have even made promises that if they come to power, they will release the terrorists.
“But I assure you today, as long as Narendra Modi’s government is in power, no one will dare to spread terrorism on Indian soil,” added the home minister.
He said the upcoming election is between two powers, on one side National Conference and PDP and on the other BJP.
“The NC-Congress are saying that if we form the government we will restore Article 370. Tell me should it be restored? Your reservation, given by BJP to Paharis and Gujjars and others, will be snatched.
“Don’t worry, I am watching the situation in Kashmir and be assured that neither Abdullah’s nor Rahul’s party are going to form the government in J&K,” added Shah.
He said he kept his promise of giving reservation to Pahadis without touching the Gurjar reservation.
“… I had promised the Gurjars that Pahadis will get the reservation but it will not affect Gurjars. And now, the Modi government has given reservation to Pahadis without touching the Gurjar reservation… Now the Gurjars and Pahadis have tribal reservation, now your children can also become Collectors and DSPs…,” said Shah.
He said PM Modi abolished the rule of three families and established Panchayati Raj in the state.
“The children will represent in the Vidhan Sabha and the Lok Sabha soon… PM Modi wants to make a Viksit J&K and wants to give the right of reservation to the OBC also…,” he added.
This was the home minister’s second visit to Jammu region within a fortnight. Earlier, during his two-day visit to Jammu on September 6 and 7, he released BJP’s manifesto for J&K Assembly elections and addressed a workers convention.
Monday is the last day for campaigning in 24 Assembly constituencies, which goes to polls in the first phase on September 18.
