The Delhi High Court on Wednesday came down heavily on the AAP government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi over the deaths of three UPSC aspirants and the laxity on the safety of students.

The court was hearing a plea seeking a high-level probe into the unfortunate accident where three students drowned in a flooded basement of a coaching centre in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar.

From slamming Delhi government’s “freebie culture” to questioning urban planning by MCD, a division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said that an “underlying malice” on the part of the administration led to the flooding incident.
