In his first comments after his close aide was accused of leaking NEET question papers, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday said that dragging his or his personal assistant’s name into the case will “not benefit anyone”.
On Wednesday, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha made an explosive claim saying that the prime suspect in the alleged NEET paper leak case is closely associated with Yadav.
“The INDIA alliance is united on this issue. We want the NEET exam to be immediately cancelled…The (BJP) has all the investigation agencies, they can call the PS or PA anyone for probe. They want to divert the issue from the kingpin. Those who want to drag my name or my PA’s name, this will not benefit anyone,” the RJD chief said.
The mastermind behind the NEET paper leak, Sikander Prasad Yadvendu – uncle of Anurag Yadav – in his confessional statement admitted to having arranged question papers for four exam aspirants to “prepare” them a day before the test and demanded Rs 40 lakh from each candidate.

According to sources in the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar police, Yadvendu’s confessional statement, recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on May 5, also detailed his contacts with Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand, allegedly known for leaking prestigious exam papers such as NEET.
